In 2022 I earned my title with 3 straight IM norm performances and reached #7 on the Canadian national rankings. peak classical FIDE rating is 2436, and my peak Lichess Bullet rating is 2915. I have 8 years of experience coaching players of all levels, including top finishers at the Chess Challenge and CYCC. Let’s improve together!

COACH  LIZA

Yelizaveta Orlova (also referred as Liza) is one of the top-female players in Canada. She represented Canada numerous times at the World Youth Chess Championship, World Chess Olympiad and other international events. Orlova is an experienced chess coach for over 10 years, teaching kids and adults of various levels. 

Yelizaveta Orlova（也称为 Liza）是加拿大顶级女棋手之一。 她多次代表加拿大参加世界青年国际象棋锦标赛、世界国际象棋奥林匹克比赛和其他国际赛事。 奥尔洛娃是一位经验丰富的国际象棋教练，拥有 10 多年的教学经验，教授各种级别的儿童和成人。

COACH JAMES

James is humbled and ecstatic to be part of the Chess minds team. Still a student of the game, he hopes that his students can share that same passion to never stop learning, stay hungry and follow their dreams.

James has 20 years experience coaching in public and private schools and has worked with students that have represented BC and team Canada.

COACH  BRANDON

Coach Brandon has a great passion for chess. He is a BC Junior Chess Champion in 2016 and 2018, Canadian Youth Championship Under 18 Champion in 2018, and a Canadian Representative at the World Youth Chess Championship in 2017 and 2018. With his FIDE rating above 2000 and Peak CFC Rating above 2200, Brandon has proven his skill in the game of chess. He is the current President of SFU Chess Club. He has also earned the title of National Candidate Master.

COACH  CALLUM

Coach Callum has been an active member in the Canadian chess community for the past decade having achieved the National Candidate Master title. He has competed at the highest level nationally, and has played in tournaments all across North America. For the past four years, Callum as taught over 100 students ranging from beginner to intermediate about the game of chess. He thoroughly enjoys sharing his passion for the game with others.

Coach Clement have more than 10 years of experience teaching youth about Coding, Math and Chess.
And have taught the above subjects at various learning centers, public and private schools in the Greater Vancouver area.

Coach Clement 拥有 10 多年教授青少年编程、数学和国际象棋的经验。

会简单的国语，这对年龄小英文不是太好的同学是一个很大的帮助。他曾在大温哥华地区的各个学习中心、公立和私立学校教授过上述科目。
