At the 20th Susan Polgar Foundation National Open for Girls & Boys, Echo tied for first place in her grade division, Jordan tied for third in the K-8 section, Lucah and Andy each earned 3-point awards in their respective grade divisions, Andy placed third in Blitz, and Echo also secured fifth place in Puzzle. Additionally, RCC earned the Second Place Team Award. Congratulations to all!
Congratulations to RCC players Jordan Szeto and Martina Szeto for representing Canada 🇨🇦 at the inaugural North American School Chess Championship in Mexico. Martina scored a bronze medal finish in the U11 girls section — a true queen’s performance on the board!
In the 2025 BCJCC, Andy won the 3rd place in the Reserve section, Echo secured the second place in the Booster Girls section, and Jerry achieved the second place in the U500 category.
At the RCC Elite Rapid on September 28th, Morgan won 2nd place in the U1600 section and received a $40 cash prize. Audrey was awarded Best Female in the same section. In the U800 group, Max took 1st place, Eden came in 2nd, and Arvin finished 3rd. Congratulations to all!
At the XIV Pan American School Chess Championship 2025, Joanne finished fifth in the U13 girls section.
At the 2025 Langley Open, RCC coach Jason secured first place in the Open section, earning a spot in this year's BC Closed Championship. Meanwhile, student Avery achieved a tie for third place in the U1100 section.
In the 2025 North American Youth Chess Championships (NAYCC), Joanne Wangluo achieved fifth place and a tie for third in the U14 girls section, marking the highest result among Canadian participants in that section.
