Introducing the "Champion's Shield" parent volunteer group at the Richmond International Chess Club, where strength and support converge to form an unyielding bulwark. Just as a chess game demands meticulous strategy and tactics, our "Champion's Shield" parents stand as resolute guardians, shielding our champions and their triumphs. With an unwavering spirit and unparalleled dedication, this group selflessly invests their time and effort, ensuring our players are equipped with the best environment and support on the tournament stage. Like the pieces on a chessboard rely on a solid foundation, the "Champion's Shield" parent volunteer group forms the bedrock of our club, fostering a secure, motivating, and vibrant atmosphere for our champions. They are protectors, they are advocates, they embody unity and victory. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for their selfless devotion, illuminating our club's presence in the realm of international chess.
Tina is also the parent of two chess prodigies, evolving from a chess novice with no knowledge to a parent who gradually learned alongside her children. Although she has been organizing chess classes for over two years, in the initial years, there was a learning curve in understanding how to register for tournaments, which competitions are suitable for children to challenge, and which ones might potentially harm their confidence. Through incremental accumulation of experience, we have now established a club with the aim of helping more young chess enthusiasts avoid these challenges.
To achieve this goal, we have enlisted the expertise of top-notch coaches to provide instruction at various skill levels for club members. We organize tournaments to offer ample practice opportunities for everyone. Nowadays, our participation in competitions is essentially a united team effort, with experienced chess parents assisting in selecting and advising our children on competitions. The competition arena is no longer a solitary struggle but a collective effort with teammates by their side, offering mutual support and encouragement! After the matches, professional coaches conduct post-game analyses and provide valuable advice.
Tina sincerely hopes that RCC can provide a platform for upward development for every chess enthusiast, echoing the famous saying in the chess world: "On the chessboard, every move is a crucial step towards victory."
